MEET THE ARTIST : FERNANDO FORNELOS

Born in Lisbon, Portugal, Fernando, now splits his time between London and Grand Bend, Ontario. This self-taught artist, who started painting in the late 1980s, is truly at home in is London studio, where he is free to paint with reckless abandon. His style and subject matter is much like a revolving door, constantly on the move. His artistic style runs the full spectrum and gets his inspiration from such artists as Picasso, Warhol, Basquait, Rothko, along with Francis Bacon, George Condo and Rashid Johnson. After having his first public show in 2008, Fernando continued to experiment with style and medium. But his true passion is painting abstract nudes and portraits on wood using acrylics.
